Precious Lord and Ruler Omnipotent,
You build up and You tear down,
The king’s heart is in Your hand;
It is why through You alone, we seek deliverance.

Your deeds are awesome;
Your works beyond compare.
The glorious splendor of Your majesty
Is seen throughout history in all that is made.

For all Your works we give you thanks!
We will tell the wonders of Your name
From generation to generation
Until the day of Your return.

Now, Heavenly Father,
We ask You to be at the US Supreme Court
Let Your word and Your presence
Be not far from the justices.

As they consider the pressing legal matters of our republic,
May truth and justice remain at the center of their thoughts.
Guard them against the enemy’s schemes,
And help us to continue to remember them in prayer.

Give them eyes to see and ears to hear.
Insulate them from political manipulations.
Give them clarity of mind and help them
Consider the implications of every word they write.

Help us, as salt and light, to serve them well,
As guideposts to righteousness.
Let humility and love for our neighbor
Permeate everything we do and say.

For our hope is secure. Joy is ours!
We trust not in power or might,
Political influence, or legal authority.
We trust in You, the Lord, our God.

Lord of Heaven and Earth,
With our most fervent plea
We approach Your throne of grace
On behalf of the faithful in this land.

We recognized it is for freedom that You have set us free;
And we seek to honor You in that freedom
By showing much restraint and deference
To You and Your Holy Word.

Forgive us our trespasses and help us
Not to lean on our own understanding.
We desperately need Your wisdom;
We long for revival in our land.

Father, as evil increases—
That foolish boldness to live loudly against Your statutes
And Your people—we pray for mercy.
We know not what we do, oh Lord!

As a new “political season” slowly approaches,
How we need Your eternal perspective!
Do not let our short-sighted emotions govern
The state of our hearts or the words of our mouths.

Help us to love; to love enough
To speak truth and give grace,
To stand firm and turn the other cheek,
To have courage, fearing only You.

Do not let the enemy’s lies stand unchallenged.
Help us to be light in the darkness,
To never lose our saltiness.
Help us through much struggle to persevere.

And help us to rest—
Rest in Your unsearchable ways,
Which are always right and good; perfect!

Lord, we give You thanks
For the marvelous works
You have performed since the beginning.
They will forever be proclaimed!

Thank You for Your faithfulness
And patience for man in his hopeless estate.
You have shown great favor to us
In this land, and we praise You.

Those who recognize Your graceful hand
Upon those who never deserved it
Can plainly see Your mercy has been
Upon us throughout our history.

But now, we see much turmoil around the world.
Protect us and guide us through it all.
Remember Your promises and Your people.
And help us remember Your sacrificial love.

Hear the petitions of our hearts and
Answer us, according to Your will.
Help us to trust Your statutes;
Deliver us from evil.

You are holy! Enthroned in majesty.
You care for us and You are for us.
Be not far from us, Lord,
Act according to Your Sovereign grace.

Give wisdom to our leaders,
Help them fear You above all else.
Give them ears to hear and eyes to see,
Whatever is true and good and noble, lovely and admirable.

Help them to focus on these things,
To walk by the Spirit and not by sight.
To do what is right, above what is
Merely politically expedient.

Rise up a generation of the righteous among us.
Give us revival!
May a new song be heard in our Land;
A Song of the Lamb who died to set us free.

Father, Maker, and Designer of all
Seen and unseen things,
You created us in our mother’s womb
With purpose and longings.

You designed us to fit together
So that two may become one,
In a miraculous display
Of Your love and the pursuit of Your people.

Nothing can erase the works of Your hands.
Nothing can delete what is true.
Who can separate us from Your Love?
Not even death could contain it. Selah

In the beginning, all was good,
Except that man should be alone.
Creation was not complete without a woman.
Then, and only then, was it done. You rested.

Forgive us, then, for devaluing
Your most precious creation.
Turn our society from its foolish efforts
To erase what was essential to Your design.

We remember Jesus’ radical love for women,
And we ask that the same spirit may rest in us,
That we may remember their intrinsic and unique
Value in all of creation – no other creature compares.

We pray against efforts to erase womanhood
In misguided attempts to erase the beauty and diversity of Your design,
To impose draconian, monochrome rules that
Put our daughters, sisters, and mothers under peril.

Give us loving words to communicate
The allure and potency of nature.
Give us the courage to speak authentically
And compassionately in all things.

In the holy name of Christ, we pray,

To You, oh Lord, we lift up our souls.
For You are good — ready to forgive
Those who call upon Your Name.
And so, we call upon Thee, Yahweh.

Arise Lord, against the evil that drives
The recent push for late-term abortion in our land.
Arise! Speak Lord, and it shall be done;
Raise up an army of salt and light in our midst.

Forgive us our silence and our apathy,
Cleanse us from all wickedness inside us
And help us to put these babies being slaughtered
Ahead of our selfish ambitions.

Teach us to love women in crisis pregnancies,
And the life You have created within them.
Teach us to love our enemies enough
To stand squarely against them in all truth.

Give us boldness to speak,
As the disciples before us;
Help us embrace ridicule and scorn,
For Your Name’s sake.

“Blessed are those who are persecuted
For righteousness’ sake,”^[a] Christ said,
“Blessed those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
For they shall be filled.”^[b]

Fill us with Your justice for the unborn;
Open the eyes of our countrymen, and help us win
Against this great evil — this great injustice.
We are helpless without You.

Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace,
You deserve all praise and honor;
In You all things hold together.

Therefore, to You we lift our voices.
As a country and a people in desperate need
Of Your intervention and restoration.
Incline Your ears to our supplications, Lord.

We are sinners crumbling under the weight of our sin.
Have mercy on us and come to our rescue.
Let the light of Your Son, our Savior, shine in the hearts
Of many in our land — let revival arise!

For we know that despite all our efforts
What we need is a change of heart, a new heart.
And what can we ultimately do to bring this about
But to speak truth and let Your Holy Spirit move?

Let us see truth, therefore,
Clearly and magnificently.
Help us open our eyes to see beyond
The lies of this present world.

Help us focus on the new one to come
The one You promised through Your Son.
Oh Lord, we trust only in Your Love
Refocus us. Consecrate us. To You.

Help us walk with integrity in the light.
Help us to love each other, as You command.
Help us believe Your promises
And to walk confidently in them.

Help us to speak boldly, proclaiming Your name,
Defeating the enemy’s lies at every turn,
Suffering the consequences of being Yours,
Bearing our cross daily until You come.

We thank You, Lord,
For the glorious day of Your coming.

You have been and continue to be
Through every season of life —
Through joy and pain, feasting and need —
God with us! We praise Your name!

In wisdom, You chose us
To be Your instruments at this moment,
In this place, for this generation,
To preach repentance and salvation to all peoples.

Give us boldness in the face of many trials.
Do not let us shy away from the good news of the Gospel,
However many shameful attacks come our way.
Be to us our shelter and refuge.

Be to us the source and aim;
Open the eyes and ears of our hearts
That we may be sensitive to Your voice.
It is You Whom we seek to please.

To that end, help us break through our selfishness.
Change our desires to match Your will on every count;
Help us praise You in every season,
Bringing peace and joy wherever we are.

What more do we need, if we have You?
We are rich — You have blessed, and blessed, and blessed.
We receive with thanksgiving and a humble heart,
And we pray You allow us to give, and give, and give.

To love You above all and our neighbor as ourselves,
This is our only aim. For we know, in this,
All the law is fulfilled. And in obedience
We seek to live all the days of our lives.

Help us to impact our community,
Not with flattering words, or pretext for greed,
Nor seeking our own glory, but with gentle hearts
Help us proclaim Truth.

Holy Father, we pray for the new Congress.
Even now as they prepare, we pray a blessing over them.
Grant them wisdom and a sense of duty, honor, and
The desire to love You above all and their neighbors as themselves.

As iron sharpens iron, let each member sharpen one another
For the good of their families, their constituents, and the country.
Stomp out the pride that is always at our door,
Calling us to the selfish pleasures that lead to division and much pain.

Let prayers ring in every chamber with much thanksgiving,
Recognizing our complete dependence on You for all that we do.
May the Scriptures be searched daily among all the staff,
As it contains the way of justice and righteousness and life.

May they be quick to hear and slow to speak;
Open their eyes that they may see when they are being manipulated
By those seeking their own self-interests to the detriment
Of those who are most vulnerable among us.

We pray for a culture of life to flourish on Capitol Hill.
We pray the enemy’s deception, when it comes to abortion, be broken.
Let the evil that is in darkness be exposed,
That we may care for the least of these.

We pray for policies that support the family
As the unit You created for human flourishing.
Help our congressmen discern what is best
Beyond what is merely popular, yet detrimental.

Help us, as citizens, to provide constructive support,
To do more than merely complain and yell.
Help us to hear one another.
We pray against those inciting violence and division.

Placing our whole trust in You, Sovereign Maker of all,
We rest in Your merciful peace, and in faith
Ask all these things in the name of our Lord and Savior,
Jesus, the Christ. Amen.

Precious Father, praise and honor to Your name.
How thankful we are for freedom and peace!
It is a grace we do not deserve;
It has been paid at the highest price.

We lift up our veterans to you,
The few who have sacrificed for so many.
We pray for their health and well-being;
Be with them in their struggles and pain.

May they never feel alone;
We know their unique scars can lead to isolation.
Help us to remember their affliction and stir us
To act on their behalf.

Help us to give back with whatever we have.
Though it is not enough, united we can truly be
Your hands and feet (as You command) to these
Who reflect Your sacrifice.

We lift up their families —
Wives, husbands, sons, daughters. …
Bless them, for they, too, had to endure
For the love of neighbor, alongside their loved one.

We thank you for our veterans’ example.
Help us live up to their standard
Of honor, excellence, commitment, and sacrifice.
Help us to put others first, as they have.

Lord, we need more men and women like them!
Help us to be engaged
In the work of preserving freedom,
For we know it is never free.

Help us do our part to pass stories
Of their sacrifice to the next generation,
To teach and inspire them to understand
What love, freedom, and liberty entail.

Help the next generation to see
These must live in word and deed;
That faith without works is dead,
So we must strive to live to serve.

Inviting You to ignite a flame

That light may in darkness shine;
That warmth may our hearts align;
That truth may be recognized;

In that spirit, be with us as we vote;
Give us courage, give us wisdom, give us hope.
May apathy be far from us;
Help us cut through all the fuss.

Keep our hearts steady in Your love as we navigate
The latest “newsy,” juicy outrage.
Help us keep our eyes up above,
Never intimidated by the mob.

We pray for leaders who will fight
For all that is good and true and right;
Who know Your Word is not a footnote;
For these, we pray and work and vote.

We ask that we may live in peace,
Trusting You above all, more than anything.
Let all quarrel amongst neighbors cease
May You alone be declared King

That we may sing the new song of salvation;
That joy may reign in our streets and homes and nation.
Give us also the strength and courage to correct
All our mistakes, for we know we are not perfect.

These things we ask with hearts full of thanksgiving,
Knowing the impossible is real when we trust
Him Who is most loving and forgiving —

Father in heaven,
We never forget You are the Great “I Am,”
The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,
The Alpha and Omega, First and Last.

Remember Your people, Oh God!
Remember Your promises and Your covenants.
Forgive us for ignoring Your Word
And rejecting Your gifts.

Turn our hearts towards You, once again,
And deliver us from the evil one.
Be merciful and graceful towards us
As we repent of our many sins.

Remember Israel — remember Jerusalem;
We pray for peace and fruitfulness for the land.
We pray for the never-ending conflict to end,
That your people may return to worship You once again.

Open the eyes of the blind, Lord;
Give them ears to hear.
May miracles flourish to Your Glory
That the world may know only You are God.

Let the songs of the Lord be heard in Jerusalem;
Let all who hear rejoice in the strength of the Lord.
May Jerusalem’s enemies stumble;
May their plans for destruction come to nothing.

We pray for the leaders of Israel.
May they seek You and allow Your Word
To be their guiding manual,
For You have promised wisdom freely to those who seek it.

We know you won’t forsake Your people;

So, may our leaders boast in their weaknesses,
Knowing it is by Your grace they can serve their people.
To him whom much is given, much is required;
May they tend to their role with sobriety and devotion.

Help us, the people, to be a help to them.
Help us to be a constant reminder of what is truly important,
To hold them accountable, as we encourage them
In all that is good and just and right.

We know, O God, that many dangers lurk in our world;
They multiply and grow more complex each day.
Yet, You are our refuge and strength;
Your renown endures through all generations.

Therefore, we do not fear;
Though the earth gives way and the mountains be moved into the sea;
Though the hills be shaken and the waters roar;
We trust in the name of the Lord our God.
