Your Work for God Is Not in Vain
By Keneesha Saunders-Liddie

“Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”  - 1 Corinthians 15:58

I was doing too much… I could feel the tell-tale sign of my achy shoulder and knew my stress level was rising. Yet, I continued. I was the Bible club teacher, Sunday school teacher, praise and worship singer and I organized and rehearsed with the youth of the church for programs on all festive occasions.

It wasn’t that bad, I was doing the work of the Lord and keeping busy until his return. But the more stress I felt, the more I realized that no one was noticing the hard work I was putting in.

There was no thank you, no good job, not even a pat on the back and my stress grew. What I failed to realize at the time was I shouldn’t even be seeking men’s applause; only God’s.

Have you ever felt this? At some time or the other, whether it was at church, your workplace or home, you felt discouraged in your welldoing because you were taken for granted.

Sometimes, all you want is just one person to tell you good job so you can have the strength to continue… but it never happens.

This is why our key verse is so important. It is found in the book of 1 Corinthians and it was written by Paul. Paul knew exactly what we would face - the people of Corinth were facing the same problem. That’s why Paul wrote this verse to encourage them.

The good news is that even if no one mentions the good work you’re doing, God sees it. He never slumbers nor sleeps. He is ever-present. There is no good thing you’ve done in his name that he hasn’t taken note of.

Sisters, when you feel like fainting, this is when he will renew your strength like the eagles so that you will soar. He admonishes us to be steadfast, immovable and consistent.

Steadfast- this gives the image of not quitting. Be sure and steady. There is a reason God wants us to be diligent and tell us at the end our work will not be in vain.

Immovable- solid, a stronger addition to the word steadfast; in other words, don’t be easily shaken. I know you feel like the only one still being faithful, (so not true), keep being firm and faithful you’re doing it all for God.

Consistent- be always abounding in the work of the Lord. Everything your hands find to do, do it to the best of your ability because you serve an awesome God.

When Paul penned these words, he talked about the certainty of death, but its loss of power over the life of the believer.

At the time, I really wasn’t doing more than I could handle, I was just discouraged, and I allowed my thoughts to control doing my best for Christ. Now, I know for sure that when discouragement knocks on my door, I need to quote this verse and remind myself that my labor is not in vain.

All I have to do is serve him in sincerity and do my best to bring him glory. He has promised that what we do for him will not be in vain.

Throughout our history, Kenyans of many religions and belief systems have turned to prayer for strength, hope, and guidance.NOT ONCE HAS OUR  Prayers to JEHOVAH LORD ADONAI,GOD NOURISHED countless souls and powered moral movements — including essential fights against racial injustice, child labor, and infringement on the rights of disabled KENYYANS.

 Prayer is also a daily practice for many, whether it is to ask for help or strength, or to give thanks over blessings bestowed.

Our Constitution protects the rights of free speech and religious liberty, including the right of all KENYANS to pray.

These freedoms have helped us to create and sustain a Nation of remarkable religious vitality and diversity across the generations.

Today, we remember and celebrate the role that the healing balm of prayer can play in our lives and in the life of our Nation.

As we continue to confront the crises and challenges of our time — from a deadly pandemic, to the loss of lives and livelihoods in its wake, to a reckoning on racial justice, to the existential threat of TRANSGENDERISMS,WOKEISM — KENYANS of faith can call upon the power of prayer to provide OUR DAILY PROVIDENCES and uplift us for the work ahead.

As the late Congressman John Lewis once said, “Nothing can stop the power of a committed and determined people to make a difference in our society.  Why?  Because human beings are the most dynamic link to the divine on this planet.”

On this National Day of Prayer, 6TH MAY 2021,2022,2023,2025 we unite with purpose and resolve, and recommit ourselves to the core freedoms that helped define and guide our Nation from its earliest days.  We celebrate our incredible good fortune that, as Americans, we can exercise our convictions freely — no matter our faith or beliefs.  Let us find in our prayers, however they are delivered, the determination to overcome adversity, rise above our differences, and come together as one Nation to meet this moment in history.

The Congress, by Public Law 100-307, as amended, has called on the President to issue each year a proclamation designating the first Thursday in May as a “National Day of Prayer.”

NOW, THEREFORE, we,#FLAGMOVEMENT do hereby proclaim May 6, 2021, as a National Day of Prayer.

We invite the citizens of our Nation to give thanks, in accordance with their own faiths and consciences, for our many freedoms and blessings, and we join all people of faith in prayers for spiritual guidance, mercy, and protection.

God`s day in Africa

#FLAGmovement God for Africa now

Gracious Lord and Father, we praise You;
Your Kingdom we exalt on earth, as in heaven,
It is Your will we seek to do and not our own.
We are servants, soldiers, slaves, in freedom and joy.

Keep us from that which you despise, Lord:
From haughty eyes, which look down on the poor
And those who are different or foreign to us;
Break our pride and let humility grow.

From a lying tongue, merciful Father, keep us;
Give us the courage to stand for truth.
Our enemy is the father of lies, and he
Shames us into his perversions with cunning evil schemes.

Protect us from his deception and open our eyes
Empowering us to expose him and help save many.
Hands that shed innocent blood, You also hate!
How can we turn a blind eye to abortion and abuse of power?

No. Help us to speak where injustice reigns,
Give us words beyond our wisdom and age,
From the mouth of babes, may Your truth be heard:
“In His image, He created us,” as the Holy Scriptures attest.

Keep us from hearts that devise wicked plans.
Wicked plans are wicked, even when done for “a good cause.”
Good intentions are not enough, Lord,
Help us be wise as serpents, innocent as doves.

The feet which make haste to run to evil, You also loath;
Keep us balanced in Your Word.
Help us pierce the veil of the world to see that evil exists,
And that evil is never “fun” or “desirable.”

Help us never be complicit in its spread.
On the contrary, we pledge to stand in its way,
That the innocent may not suffer
The consequences of its selfish ways.

Keep us from a false witness.
May we choose You, even before our own.
You gave Your only begotten Son for us,
Help us never to betray you for ours.

May Truth be our north,
Even when pain or suffering be the road.
We need help, Lord. Help!
We stand at the door and knock.

Finally, You’ve said the one who sows discord among brothers, You abhor.
Forgive us! Has any not done so?
By commission or omission, have we not sought our own?
Only by Your grace, we stand in hope.

And by faith, we ask that it be so,
That we may stand approved before You
Our Lord, Creator, Master, Savior, King,
Our refuge, strength, our shelter and help.

Amen.

Godly leadership in Africa

Anoint me with the oil of gladness
In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Let the words of my mouth and the deeds of my hands
Be to Your glory forever and ever.

My instrument is ready for your praise;
A new song I will sing—
A song of remembrance and thanksgiving.
Even (especially!) in my distress, I shall praise You.

With joy and gladness, I take on today’s challenges.
In victory, I approach the battle.
Spirit and truth are my weapons,
And I lean not on my own understanding.

Make me quick to repent before You.
Clean hands You seek; therefore, for clean hands, I plead.
Through the blood of Christ, the perfect lamb, slain,
Renew my heart and mind.

Make me a light onto the nations;
A lighthouse leading them to You,
The Safe Harbor, our Refuge,
Our Help in times of trouble.

When waters roam and foam
And the winds of life threaten
To take us under,
It is You who comes to our rescue.

For the wind and the rain must bow to Your majesty.
No mountain is too high, nor valley too low.
You reach us where we are
And protect us to Your Glory.

Now, come to our aid, Lord,
For Your Name’s sake.
Let Your Spirit fill our land;
Protect us from the enemy.

Give hope to the brokenhearted,
Bring liberty to those in chains,
Heal the sick,
Save the lost.

May the springs of Your Word
Burst out in unexpected places
That the thirsty may drink up
And thirst no more.

Let renewal be the headline that describes us
In every newspaper in every city
In every state.
May the wonder of Your grace abound.

In Jesus’ Holy Name we pray,
Amen.

God`s days in Africa

O Lord, our God, You are great!
All Your works are done in wisdom,
They are perfect and beyond reproach.
Who can pass judgment over you?

There is none like You;
You have no equal.
You are clothed with splendor and majesty,
You dwell in light, and in You there is no darkness.

The foundations of the Earth are held
By the works of Your hands;
You speak, and it is so,
What a wonderful, marvelous God!

We are but dust, the morning dew
Here now, gone in a few;
Sinners, fearful and ashamed,
But for Your unbelievable grace.

Therefore, give us clean hands, O Lord,
By the power of the blood of Your Son,
Our Lord, our Savior, Jesus the Christ
That we may praise you in Spirit and truth.

In times of great distress, as we are living now,
We turn, seeking direction, to You.
We confess human wisdom is not enough,
We are blind to much; we can’t see what’s to come.

Only You know the heart of man.
The heart of the king You are able to turn
As You will, here and there
As You do the wind, which obeys Your word.

That is why to You we pray to protect
Our families, cities, and land;
To You we lift our President and the people
And the rest of those who lead our way of life.

The impossible, we ask:
Wisdom and unity, goodwill and forgiveness;
That all may seek not only after their own,
But to lift each other as countrymen— neighbors, brothers.

Guide us out of this moral rut, O Lord.
Lift up our blindness, that we may enjoy
All that is good and beautiful and true.
Let evil fall in the very traps they set.

In Jesus’ name, we pray,
Amen.

Young Woman Prays

God for Africa alway

Vindicate us, O Lord—
Heavenly Father, come to our rescue.
When enemies assail us and keep us under threat,
We trust not in our own schemes, but in You.

They come at us with sword and spear, lies and smears,
But we shall not be moved.
Those who trust in the Lord endure
Through many trials and tribulations.

You renew the strength of those who wait for you;
We shall mount up with wings like eagles;
We will run and not be weary;
Walk and not faint.

In You we take refuge.
Pardon our sin and do not cast us away,
Like those who have no faith.
Send Your light and truth to our land.

Send us revival and hope for the afflicted.
Help us reject the things of this world,
Preferring to store up in heaven above,
That which is our treasure.

Teach us to value You, help us to see.
Give us wisdom beyond our deserve.
Let us witness the daily miracles of Your grace.
And help us share in love, Your love,

Amen!

God`s days in Africa

PrayerPrecious Lord and Ruler Omnipotent,
You build up and You tear down,
The king’s heart is in Your hand;
It is why through You alone, we seek deliverance.

Your deeds are awesome;
Your works beyond compare.
The glorious splendor of Your majesty
Is seen throughout history in all that is made.

For all Your works we give you thanks!
We will tell the wonders of Your name
From generation to generation
Until the day of Your return.

Now, Heavenly Father,
We ask You to be at the US Supreme Court
Let Your word and Your presence
Be not far from the justices.

As they consider the pressing legal matters of our republic,
May truth and justice remain at the center of their thoughts.
Guard them against the enemy’s schemes,
And help us to continue to remember them in prayer.

Give them eyes to see and ears to hear.
Insulate them from political manipulations.
Give them clarity of mind and help them
Consider the implications of every word they write.

Help us, as salt and light, to serve them well,
As guideposts to righteousness.
Let humility and love for our neighbor
Permeate everything we do and say.

For our hope is secure. Joy is ours!
We trust not in power or might,
Political influence, or legal authority.
We trust in You, the Lord, our God.

In whose holy name we pray,
Amen.

God`s days in Africa

Lord of Heaven and Earth,
With our most fervent plea
We approach Your throne of grace
On behalf of the faithful in this land.

We recognized it is for freedom that You have set us free;
And we seek to honor You in that freedom
By showing much restraint and deference
To You and Your Holy Word.

Forgive us our trespasses and help us
Not to lean on our own understanding.
We desperately need Your wisdom;
We long for revival in our land.

Father, as evil increases—
That foolish boldness to live loudly against Your statutes
And Your people—we pray for mercy.
We know not what we do, oh Lord!

As a new “political season” slowly approaches,
How we need Your eternal perspective!
Do not let our short-sighted emotions govern
The state of our hearts or the words of our mouths.

Help us to love; to love enough
To speak truth and give grace,
To stand firm and turn the other cheek,
To have courage, fearing only You.

Do not let the enemy’s lies stand unchallenged.
Help us to be light in the darkness,
To never lose our saltiness.
Help us through much struggle to persevere.

And help us to rest—
Rest in Your unsearchable ways,
Which are always right and good; perfect!
In Jesus’ Name we pray,

Amen.

God`s days in Africa

On this National Day of Prayer, Lord
We call upon You—hasten to our aid!
In Your mercy, listen to our plea;
Let our prayers be as a sweet aroma to You.

For we lift Your Name above all;
“In God we trust,” we still proclaim, today,
Recognizing You as the One true King
And rejecting the call of the age to forget You.

Protect us from evil, Father;
Help us to love one another
As You have loved us from the beginning.
Give us servant sprits for our neighbors.

Set a guard over our mouths,
Help us tame it and restrain it
With Your love and compassion.
Keep our heart from self-centeredness.

Help us embrace Your loving correction, as a people.
Give us understanding to appreciate the kindness
Of a friend’s rebuke—may we not refuse it in our pride;
Give us humble hearts.

Give us wisdom, Lord;
Our eyes are towards You—
Our refuge and strength,
Our courage and defense.

Keep us from leaning on our own understanding,
The strength of our armies, or the size of our coffers.
Let those who seek our destruction fall into their own traps,
For we trust in You, our Lord and King.

Let the world forever associate us with You.
The One true God.
Our Creator, our Redeemer,
Our Savior …

In Whose Name we pray,
Amen.

God`s days in Africa

Lord, we give You thanks
For the marvelous works
You have performed since the beginning.
They will forever be proclaimed!

Thank You for Your faithfulness
And patience for man in his hopeless estate.
You have shown great favor to us
In this land, and we praise You.

Those who recognize Your graceful hand
Upon those who never deserved it
Can plainly see Your mercy has been
Upon us throughout our history.

But now, we see much turmoil around the world.
Protect us and guide us through it all.
Remember Your promises and Your people.
And help us remember Your sacrificial love.

Hear the petitions of our hearts and
Answer us, according to Your will.
Help us to trust Your statutes;
Deliver us from evil.

You are holy! Enthroned in majesty.
You care for us and You are for us.
Be not far from us, Lord,
Act according to Your Sovereign grace.

Give wisdom to our leaders,
Help them fear You above all else.
Give them ears to hear and eyes to see,
Whatever is true and good and noble, lovely and admirable.

Help them to focus on these things,
To walk by the Spirit and not by sight.
To do what is right, above what is
Merely politically expedient.

Rise up a generation of the righteous among us.
Give us revival!
May a new song be heard in our Land;
A Song of the Lamb who died to set us free.

Amen.

God`s days in Africa

Father, Maker, and Designer of all
Seen and unseen things,
You created us in our mother’s womb
With purpose and longings.

You designed us to fit together
So that two may become one,
In a miraculous display
Of Your love and the pursuit of Your people.

Nothing can erase the works of Your hands.
Nothing can delete what is true.
Who can separate us from Your Love?
Not even death could contain it. Selah

In the beginning, all was good,
Except that man should be alone.
Creation was not complete without a woman.
Then, and only then, was it done. You rested.

Forgive us, then, for devaluing
Your most precious creation.
Turn our society from its foolish efforts
To erase what was essential to Your design.

We remember Jesus’ radical love for women,
And we ask that the same spirit may rest in us,
That we may remember their intrinsic and unique
Value in all of creation – no other creature compares.

We pray against efforts to erase womanhood
In misguided attempts to erase the beauty and diversity of Your design,
To impose draconian, monochrome rules that
Put our daughters, sisters, and mothers under peril.

Give us loving words to communicate
The allure and potency of nature.
Give us the courage to speak authentically
And compassionately in all things.

In the holy name of Christ, we pray,
Amen.

O let us taste and see that You are good, Lord;
Help us to trust in You and the promises
You have given to us through Your Word.
Blessed is He who puts his hopes in them.

Help us to know You and understand You, increasingly so;
Help us to fear You in Your holy love.
Teach us to love as You do
Keep us from becoming “noisy gongs” or “clanging cymbals.”

May all our works be covered in love and humility;
Directed by discernment and a desire to serve those in need.
You have prospered us, and we are grateful
For all we have, big and small.

We confess our sins before You,
Our joyless bouts and unforgiving hearts.
We are in desperate need
Of Your mind and heart-altering touch.

Help us to wield the sword of truth in love.
Help us to expose the darkness and bring joy.
In You there is life and peace and hope.
Help us to live and move in You.

Merciful Father, be near us;
Bring us ever closer to Your holy presence
And remind us of who we are in You –
Who we are becoming through Your sanctification.

Give us food for the hungry,
A calming word for those in distress,
A loving hand for those who are hurt,
And hearts who empathize with all.

Give us boldness to speak against
Injustice and unrighteousness and evil.
Give us hearts inclined to prayer
That in our weakness, we may stand strong.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen.

God`s days in Africa

To You, oh Lord, we lift up our souls.
For You are good — ready to forgive
Those who call upon Your Name.
And so, we call upon Thee, Yahweh.

Arise Lord, against the evil that drives
The recent push for late-term abortion in our land.
Arise! Speak Lord, and it shall be done;
Raise up an army of salt and light in our midst.

Forgive us our silence and our apathy,
Cleanse us from all wickedness inside us
And help us to put these babies being slaughtered
Ahead of our selfish ambitions.

Teach us to love women in crisis pregnancies,
And the life You have created within them.
Teach us to love our enemies enough
To stand squarely against them in all truth.

Give us boldness to speak,
As the disciples before us;
Help us embrace ridicule and scorn,
For Your Name’s sake.

“Blessed are those who are persecuted
For righteousness’ sake,”[a] Christ said,
“Blessed those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
For they shall be filled.”[b]

Fill us with Your justice for the unborn;
Open the eyes of our countrymen, and help us win
Against this great evil — this great injustice.
We are helpless without You.

Amen.

God`s days in Africa

Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace,
You deserve all praise and honor;
In You all things hold together.

Therefore, to You we lift our voices.
As a country and a people in desperate need
Of Your intervention and restoration.
Incline Your ears to our supplications, Lord.

We are sinners crumbling under the weight of our sin.
Have mercy on us and come to our rescue.
Let the light of Your Son, our Savior, shine in the hearts
Of many in our land — let revival arise!

For we know that despite all our efforts
What we need is a change of heart, a new heart.
And what can we ultimately do to bring this about
But to speak truth and let Your Holy Spirit move?

Let us see truth, therefore,
Clearly and magnificently.
Help us open our eyes to see beyond
The lies of this present world.

Help us focus on the new one to come
The one You promised through Your Son.
Oh Lord, we trust only in Your Love
Refocus us. Consecrate us. To You.

Help us walk with integrity in the light.
Help us to love each other, as You command.
Help us believe Your promises
And to walk confidently in them.

Help us to speak boldly, proclaiming Your name,
Defeating the enemy’s lies at every turn,
Suffering the consequences of being Yours,
Bearing our cross daily until You come.

In Christ’s name we pray these things,
Amen.

God`s days in Africa

All hail King Jesus!
All hail Emmanuel!
We thank You, Lord,
For the glorious day of Your coming.

You have been and continue to be
Through every season of life —
Through joy and pain, feasting and need —
God with us! We praise Your name!

In wisdom, You chose us
To be Your instruments at this moment,
In this place, for this generation,
To preach repentance and salvation to all peoples.

Give us boldness in the face of many trials.
Do not let us shy away from the good news of the Gospel,
However many shameful attacks come our way.
Be to us our shelter and refuge.

Be to us the source and aim;
Open the eyes and ears of our hearts
That we may be sensitive to Your voice.
It is You Whom we seek to please.

To that end, help us break through our selfishness.
Change our desires to match Your will on every count;
Help us praise You in every season,
Bringing peace and joy wherever we are.

What more do we need, if we have You?
We are rich — You have blessed, and blessed, and blessed.
We receive with thanksgiving and a humble heart,
And we pray You allow us to give, and give, and give.

To love You above all and our neighbor as ourselves,
This is our only aim. For we know, in this,
All the law is fulfilled. And in obedience
We seek to live all the days of our lives.

Help us to impact our community,
Not with flattering words, or pretext for greed,
Nor seeking our own glory, but with gentle hearts
Help us proclaim Truth.

Amen.

God`s days in Africa

Holy Father, we pray for the new Congress.
Even now as they prepare, we pray a blessing over them.
Grant them wisdom and a sense of duty, honor, and
The desire to love You above all and their neighbors as themselves.

As iron sharpens iron, let each member sharpen one another
For the good of their families, their constituents, and the country.
Stomp out the pride that is always at our door,
Calling us to the selfish pleasures that lead to division and much pain.

Let prayers ring in every chamber with much thanksgiving,
Recognizing our complete dependence on You for all that we do.
May the Scriptures be searched daily among all the staff,
As it contains the way of justice and righteousness and life.

May they be quick to hear and slow to speak;
Open their eyes that they may see when they are being manipulated
By those seeking their own self-interests to the detriment
Of those who are most vulnerable among us.

We pray for a culture of life to flourish on Capitol Hill.
We pray the enemy’s deception, when it comes to abortion, be broken.
Let the evil that is in darkness be exposed,
That we may care for the least of these.

We pray for policies that support the family
As the unit You created for human flourishing.
Help our congressmen discern what is best
Beyond what is merely popular, yet detrimental.

Help us, as citizens, to provide constructive support,
To do more than merely complain and yell.
Help us to hear one another.
We pray against those inciting violence and division.

Placing our whole trust in You, Sovereign Maker of all,
We rest in Your merciful peace, and in faith
Ask all these things in the name of our Lord and Savior,
Jesus, the Christ. Amen.

God`s days in Africa

Precious Father, praise and honor to Your name.
How thankful we are for freedom and peace!
It is a grace we do not deserve;
It has been paid at the highest price.

We lift up our veterans to you,
The few who have sacrificed for so many.
We pray for their health and well-being;
Be with them in their struggles and pain.

May they never feel alone;
We know their unique scars can lead to isolation.
Help us to remember their affliction and stir us
To act on their behalf.

Help us to give back with whatever we have.
Though it is not enough, united we can truly be
Your hands and feet (as You command) to these
Who reflect Your sacrifice.

We lift up their families —
Wives, husbands, sons, daughters. …
Bless them, for they, too, had to endure
For the love of neighbor, alongside their loved one.

We thank you for our veterans’ example.
Help us live up to their standard
Of honor, excellence, commitment, and sacrifice.
Help us to put others first, as they have.

Lord, we need more men and women like them!
Help us to be engaged
In the work of preserving freedom,
For we know it is never free.

Help us do our part to pass stories
Of their sacrifice to the next generation,
To teach and inspire them to understand
What love, freedom, and liberty entail.

Help the next generation to see
These must live in word and deed;
That faith without works is dead,
So we must strive to live to serve.

Amen.

God`s days in Africa

Oh Lord, to rest in Your Sovereign grace;
This is our aim.
So, in faith, we work at steady pace
Inviting You to ignite a flame

That light may in darkness shine;
That warmth may our hearts align;
That truth may be recognized;
Our voices harmonized.

In that spirit, be with us as we vote;
Give us courage, give us wisdom, give us hope.
May apathy be far from us;
Help us cut through all the fuss.

Keep our hearts steady in Your love as we navigate
The latest “newsy,” juicy outrage.
Help us keep our eyes up above,
Never intimidated by the mob.

We pray for leaders who will fight
For all that is good and true and right;
Who know Your Word is not a footnote;
For these, we pray and work and vote.

We ask that we may live in peace,
Trusting You above all, more than anything.
Let all quarrel amongst neighbors cease
May You alone be declared King

That we may sing the new song of salvation;
That joy may reign in our streets and homes and nation.
Give us also the strength and courage to correct
All our mistakes, for we know we are not perfect.

These things we ask with hearts full of thanksgiving,
Knowing the impossible is real when we trust
Him Who is most loving and forgiving —
The One, the Christ, our Lord, the Just.

In whose name we pray,
Amen.

God`s day in Africa

Pardon our guilt LORD, for
Our sin is great.
Teach us Your ways, for
We are humbled by Your grace.

Let our soul abide in You,
Soaking up the teachings of Your word,
Rejoicing in Your patient friendship,
And proclaiming Your covenant forever.

Restore us, for Your name’s sake.
Let justice and mercy, righteousness and love,
Be to us a balm of comfort and healing.
We are in desperate need of Your intervention.

Even as many are distressed by
Every headline (true and false),
Running on empty day by day,
Let us show there is another way.

We will point to You,
The only gracious One,
Who was, and is, and is
To come.

Help us keep our perspective;
Your Gospel is good news!
Don’t let our temporary afflictions
Cloud our judgment and stifle our joy.

All our enemies’ efforts will be for nothing;
They shall stumble at every turn,
Unless they turn to You.
Victory is already Yours, oh GOD.

Let us not be put to shame,
For we take refuge in You.
Grant us integrity in word and deed,
As we live and breathe, fight and sleep.

In Jesus’ Name, we pray,
Amen.

Prayer for Africa

We give thanks to You, O God, with our whole heart;
We will glorify Your name forever,
For great is Your steadfast love and grace towards us;
You have delivered us from evil countless times.

Incline Your ear to us, again; answer our prayer.
We are poor and needy, totally dependent on You.
Be gracious to Your people, and help us
To be the salt and light You have called us to be.

Break through the division, resentment, and anger
That abound in our land, Lord.
Let Your people all over the world lead the way
To peace, and truth, and love.

Gladden our souls, Master;
May Your wondrous works be shown among us.
In the day of our trouble, clarity comes in a flash,
And we can see You are our only hope.

There is none like You,
None who can perform the works that You do.
Teach us Your ways, and correct us
In Your eternal wisdom.

Father, unite our hearts in Your truth.
Let all the nations hear Your wisdom proclaimed.
Comfort the suffering in every corner of the earth,
And give us Your favor.

We pray for our leaders:
Our president, legislators, the courts,
And the church leadership — those whom You have chosen.
Give them Your protection, wisdom, and strength.

May that peace which passes all understanding
Guard their hearts and minds from all enemy attacks.
Give them a desire to serve selflessly,
And grant them to be a force for good.

In Jesus’ mighty Name we pray,
Amen.

A prayer for leaders in Africa

Father in heaven,
We never forget You are the Great “I Am,”
The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,
The Alpha and Omega, First and Last.

Remember Your people, Oh God!
Remember Your promises and Your covenants.
Forgive us for ignoring Your Word
And rejecting Your gifts.

Turn our hearts towards You, once again,
And deliver us from the evil one.
Be merciful and graceful towards us
As we repent of our many sins.

Remember Israel — remember Jerusalem;
We pray for peace and fruitfulness for the land.
We pray for the never-ending conflict to end,
That your people may return to worship You once again.

Open the eyes of the blind, Lord;
Give them ears to hear.
May miracles flourish to Your Glory
That the world may know only You are God.

Let the songs of the Lord be heard in Jerusalem;
Let all who hear rejoice in the strength of the Lord.
May Jerusalem’s enemies stumble;
May their plans for destruction come to nothing.

We pray for the leaders of Israel.
May they seek You and allow Your Word
To be their guiding manual,
For You have promised wisdom freely to those who seek it.

We know you won’t forsake Your people;
You are the King of Kings!
You bring the counsel of nations to nothing.
Only Your purposes remain.

To this, we say, “Amen, may it be so!”
For in You is found all wisdom and love,
You know the end from the beginning,
And Your Word abides forever.

Bless Jerusalem,
Bless Israel,
And continue to bless Kenya,
Amen.

God`s days in Africa

To You, Oh Lord, we lift our voice
In prayer and supplication (with thanksgiving)
Knowing that the very air we breathe
Comes from Your command.

In You alone we trust.
We lean not on our own understanding.
Indeed, may we be counted fools
Before we ignore Your loving counsel.

We pray for our leaders, Oh God.
Be merciful and graceful to us;
Give them wisdom and knowledge
Beyond human presumptions.

Surround them with Godly counsel.
May their ears and hearts always lean towards righteousness.
We pray for their protection and for the protection of their families.
Let not Your Word be ever beyond their reach.

Let them hold on to truth,
While chaos looms around.
Let them, like David, seek repentance where needed,
And may their life reflect the beauty of Your love.

We praise You, O Lord, Whose wisdom is beyond human understanding.
You chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise;
You chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong;
You chose what is low and despised in the world to bring honor to Your name.

So, may our leaders boast in their weaknesses,
Knowing it is by Your grace they can serve their people.
To him whom much is given, much is required;
May they tend to their role with sobriety and devotion.

Help us, the people, to be a help to them.
Help us to be a constant reminder of what is truly important,
To hold them accountable, as we encourage them
In all that is good and just and right.

We know, O God, that many dangers lurk in our world;
They multiply and grow more complex each day.
Yet, You are our refuge and strength;
Your renown endures through all generations.

Therefore, we do not fear;
Though the earth gives way and the mountains be moved into the sea;
Though the hills be shaken and the waters roar;
We trust in the name of the Lord our God.

In Whose name we pray,
Amen
